Conference “Increasing the role of Civil Societies in promoting Confidence Building Measures (CBM) in the areas of “frozen conflicts””

On October 31st, 2012 the representative of Strategic and Security Studies Group participated at the Conference “Increasing the role of Civil Societies in promoting Confidence Building Measures (CBM) in the areas of “frozen conflicts”” organized by the Foreign Policy Association in Chisinau.

The event became a platform for discussing the role of CBM in the context of Transnistrian Settlement, Current state of play and perspectives of the CBM’s in Moldova, The role of Civil Society in promoting CBM in the areas of “frozen conflicts” etc. The representative of Strategic and Security Studies Group Mr. Sergiy Gerasymchuk in his presentation mentioned the experience of our organization in joint Ukraininan-Moldovan Projects and also emphasized the necessity of wider media coverage of the successful international projects in the region. Mr. Gerasymchuk also stressed the importance of Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013 as the financing instrument for the regional project and criticized management of the program for the lack of media visibility and transparency.
